Gala Dinner

Included in the registration fee for participants and registered accompanying persons.

All registered delegates and their accompanying persons are invited to attend the Gala Dinner. The Gala Dinner will be held under the auspices of the City of Vienna in the Festsaal of the Rathaus (City Hall), Vienna’s most important neo-Gothic secular building built between 1872 and 1883. The Rathaus is the seat of the Mayor and Governor of Vienna, of the City Council and of the Assembly. It also houses the Municipal and State Libraries and Archives which hold many key Viennese historical documents and a large collection of local memorabilia. Please mark on your registration form if you wish to attend this event, since the number of available places is limited.

 

Concert

The Concert will take place in the Laxenburg Palace. The concert will be followed by a Cocktail Reception.

Memorial places of Mozart

This walk leads us to different places where W.A. Mozart worked - the Imperial Palace, where he played concerts, the Hofburgkapelle, where he worked with the Hofmusik and the boys choir, the Burgtheater, where the "Marriage of the Figaro" played for the first time and the Palais Collalto, where he played as a 6 year old boy his first concert.

We continue to some dwellings of Mozart - Judenplatz, Milchgasse - the apartment of family Weber. Afterwards we stroll to the St. Stephen's Cathedral where W.A. Mozart married and also been consecrated before he was burried at the St. Marxer cementary.

We also visit the Mozarthaus, the only still existing apartment of W.A. Mozart.

Included in the accompanying persons fee.

Early booking is recommended as onsite availability cannot be guaranteed. Full payment in advance is required. Minimum number for walking tours is 15 persons, for bus tours 25 persons. Tours will be cancelled if the minimum number is not reached, full refund is provided for the cancelled tours which will not take place. All tours will depart from and return to the Conference Hotel Hilton- Stadtpark, unless otherwise stated. All tours are accompanied by an English speaking guide and are subject to change. Confirmation will be sent to you upon the receipt of your payment. The vouchers and receipt will be given to you at the registration desk at Hilton - Stadtpark.

 

All cancellations of tours are to be made in writing to Austropa Interconvention. Tours cancelled after August 1, 2006 cannot be refunded. Unfortunately, lost or unused vouchers cannot be refunded either. 

 

 

Wachau – Romantic Danube Valley

A full day excursion, which will show you the beauty of the Wachau. Through this romantic scenery full of history and legends the Danube winds its way past charming old villages and steep vineyards. The old castles tell us about the former importance of this trade- and trafficway, one of them-Dürnstein-especially famous, because here King Richard Lionheart was imprisoned, while waiting for his ransom to arrive from England, raised by his faithful Minstrel Blondel. During a romantic boat-trip the history comes alive. The heart of the Wachau is the old wine-merchants’ town Krems. To complete this day of highlights you will visit Melk, the “Cradle of Austria”, the magnificent Benedictine Abbey, a pearl of the Austrian Baroque. Possibility for lunch at the Abbey Restaurant at Melk.

Historical Vienna with tour through Schönbrunn Palace

To provide you with a first impression of the city, we start our tour at Ringstrasse. This boulevard with an approximate length of 4 km was created in the course of the city’s first expansion in the middle of the 19th century on the area of the former Glacis. We will see buildings like the Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Natural History, the City Hall, the Burgtheater, the Parliament, the University, and many more. The highlight of our excursion is a tour through Schönbrunn Palace, the summer residence of the former Imperial House of Austria.

Wienerwald - Mayerling

A half-day excursion which shows you the most beautiful sights of the southern part of the Vienna Woods. Passing the Roman City of Baden which is famous for its thermal springs, we drive through the romantic valley Helenental to the former Mayerling hunting lodge, today a commemorative chapel, where Crown Prince Rudolph togheter with Baronesse Vetsera died tragically in 1889. In the Cistercian Abbey of Heiligenkreuz (1133) you visit the medieval cloister which houses the remains of the last Babenberger. We then pass the Höldrichsmühle and arrive at the Seegrotte. After a boat ride on the largest subterranean lake in Europe you leave the Vienna Woods and return to Vienna.

Upon your request and pending availability Austropa Interconvention can provide tickets for diverse cultural events. A 25 % booking fee will be charged. Full payment in advance is necessary for all the tickets. Upon receipt of your payment, you will be sent a confirmation of your booking. Tickets will be handed to you at the registration desk at Hilton Vienna. Lost or misplaces tickets cannot be replaced.

Unfortunately, cancellations and refunds of the payments are not possible. The rights for program changes are reserved.
